What if you're not just surviving, but thriving with a chronic illness? That's the question I had the honor of exploring at Tallahassee’s 27th Annual Together for a Cure: MS Luncheon. It was a truly special day, a celebration of resilience, and a testament to the power of community in the face of Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
Sharing my journey, from a devastating diagnosis in 2014 to finding my voice and a community that has become my lifeline, was an incredible experience. The love and support I felt in the room—from my family and friends who cheered me on, to members of our local TLH MS support group — was palpable. It’s moments like these that remind me we are never truly alone in this fight.
This community's spirit of giving is nothing short of amazing. This year alone, the luncheon raised over $80,000, bringing the grand total over 27 years to more than $1 million. The generosity of every person who attended, donated, or volunteered is what makes it possible to fund vital research and local programs that provide essential resources for those living with MS.
Our work doesn't stop here. The momentum from this event will carry us into our next major initiative: the Walk MS event in March. These events are organized and funded by the hard work of dedicated volunteers, sponsorships, and donations through organizations like On My Nerves, Inc.
The outpouring of support reminds me that this cause is deeply personal to so many, and together, we are building a community where every person with MS feels seen, heard, and supported.
