Walk MS 2017 - Hamilton, NJ

Since I'm working in Jersey now, I figured I'd participate in the walk up here as all. I was solo but it was still fun.

Well, I'm pregnant

Is that good or bad? It's a great thing, to bring a life into the world. But how does MS and the medication effect the pregnancy. "They say" the cure to MS is pregnancy. That women, while pregnant have less MS symptoms. They may relapse harder, 3 months postpartum but for those 9 months, they're good. That's what they say. It's the medication that the issue.

This is because Gilenya may harm the unborn baby if used during pregnancy. If you use Gilenya during pregnancy, your child could be at higher risk of birth defects, in particular those affecting the heart, kidneys, bones and muscles. You must use effective contraception while taking Gilenya

I had a visit with Maternal Fetal Medicine at Capital Health Medical Center - Hopewell. I've also started seeing the Obstetrician at Lawrence OB & Associates to see my through this pregnancy. We'll begin doing genetics tests and have the conversations necessary. But, we're having a baby!

MS Walk 2016 - Baton Rouge

In keeping the same energy, I decided to participate in the MS Walk in Baton Rouge too. Because, why not? So many of my friends still live there. I was able to get shirts made for them as well. Thanks to those that were able to come out, participate and contribute.  #TeamTasha #OnMyNerves

An exacerbation

That's what they call it. When a problem occurs. That's what's happening now. I'm having an exacerbation. My left foot is feeling numb. Losing sensation. So, we treat it. With steroids. I'll be heading to the Centra State Hospital for around of steroids. I'll be monitored to ensure none of my 'levels' change.

From April 27 - April 29, I got to wear this fancy port/arm piece and receive a steroid infusion for a few hours a day.

It wasn't bad. I came, I saw, I conquered.
